Rules and Regulations of the IVth International Giulio Perotti Singing Competition
Ueckermünde 23th - 29th October 2015


1.
Music students of every nationality can take part in the 4th International Giulio Perotti Singing Competition, all singers born between 1 January 1990 and the 31 December 1999 (GROUP A), but also students of solo singing class at the Music Academies of all nationalities (GROUP B) regardless of age. It excludes, however, the share of singers who have completed their studies and work in the profession.

2.
The contest is devided as follow:

Group A
AG I Birth date between 1 January 1998 and 31 December 1999,
AG II Birth date between 1 January 1995 and 31 December 1997,
AG III Birth date between 1 January 1990 and 31 December 1994.

Group B
I students at the undergraduate level (Bachelor) and this year's graduates who have ended license studies this year,
II students in the Masters and this year's graduates who have ended master studies this year.

(In the application form please write your group. The organizer reserves the right to verify the correctness  of the data entered in the entry form.)

3.
The competition will be carried out in 3 rounds
(In the declaration please  write very accurately the name of composer, title of aria or song, role and the first words of  work!):

Selections (with piano accompaniment, max. 10 Min.):
1. Aria from Baroque or Classical period,
2. Song chosen from a composer that comes from the country of the applicant (Art song); participants from Germany may select any other song of composer from another country,
3. Free choice (Song or Aria).
The presentation of the first round, which will take longer than 10 minutes, will be interrupted.

Semi Final (with piano accompaniment, max. 12 Min.):
1. Song from a German composer (different from the previous round),
2. Aria from a Mass, Cantata or Oratorio (different from the previous round),
3. Aria (different from the previous round).
The presentation of the second round, which will take longer than 12 minutes, will be interrupted.

Final (with Orchestra):
1. Two arias with orchestra selected from the list (different from the previous rounds).
The finalists represent with the orchestra only one aria (chosen by the jury).
The second aria with the orchestra will be presented by selected  winners at the awards ceremony (the winners concert).

4.
The order of the performances in each round can be chosen by the candidate.

5.
The participant in every age group will be in alphabetical order depending on the starting letter which will be chosen by means of a draw at the opening concert. The order of performances counts for all participants.

6.
All pieces should be performed in the original language.

7.
For each individual voice range Arias should be performed in their original key.

8.
Songs may be transposed.

9.
All pieces should be performed from memory, an Aria from a Mass, Cantata or Oratorio, too.

10.
Pieces cannot be performed more than once.

11.
Changes in programme are not allowed.

12.
Specific appointments can not be catered for.

13.
The application form must be handed in by 30. June 2015.

15.
The application fee of 70,00 € must be handed in at the latest by 30. June 2015.

The full name of the applicant must be written in block capitals. Proof of payment should be presented during the registration for the competition before the rehearsal in the Music School Kreismusikschule Uecker-Randow (Apfelallee 2).

16.
If a participant withdraws from the competition all documents handed in will not be returned and no refund will be given.

17.
All participants are entitled to bring their own accompanist (this must be stated on the application form). Candidates can request an accompanist free of charge from the organisation committee for rehearsals and performances in the 1 and 2 rounds.

18.
Should an accompanist be requested, complete musical sheets selected for the first and the second round of the competition should be submitted by the 30. June 2015 (only piano transcriptions, not the full score or basso continuo).

19.
Rehearsal facilities (including piano) are available.

20.
Please be aware for all rounds of the competition participants must adhere to a dress code (Eveningwear)!

21.
All award winners are obliged to perform 2-3 concerts unpaid after the competition is over.

22.
The organisers are entitled to make acoustic and visual recordings in all phases of the competition for advertising purposes. The participant is not entitled to additional payment raised therewith.
Recording and photographing during auditions and concerts are not allowed.

23.
The participant is responsible for all costs regarding travel, meals and accommodation.

24.
The participant is responsible for all costs incurred for their own accompanist.

25.
If necessary, the participants, the voice teacher and pianist, the invitations will be sent to the competition.

26.
The marks in all rounds of the competition are made public. Entrance to the public is free.

27.
The rehearsals and warm ups are located at the Kreismusikschule Uecker-Randow (Apfelallee 2). The 1 and 2 rounds are located in the assembely hall of the regional school Regionale Schule (Ueckerstrasse 59). The final will take place in the Cinema Ueckermünde (An der Volksbühne 4).

28.
Ueckermünde is recognised tourist village. Please  sufficiently in advance take care of accommodation.

29.
This year's graduates of school of music who have been accepted to study singing (music) will be assigned to group A, according to age. Please complete the application form with seal of the school and signature of the headmaster early enough.

This year's graduates of Academy of Music are among the persons admitted to the competition.  
Please complete the application form with seal of academy and signature of the dean of faculty early enough.

30.
In case of a large number of candidates the admission to the competition will depend on the order of arrival of applications (date of postmark).

31.
The first singers, who decide to take part in the IVth International Giulio Perotti Singing Competition in Ueckermünde can get a free accommodation in private homes. The order of applications is important.

32.
The prize winners of the International Giulio Perotti Singing Competition may again participate in the competition only after the change of the group.

33.
The application form without the signature of the participant will not be accepted.

In the case of minors the entry forms must be signed by their legal guardians.
