KorondiAnnaAnna Korondi was born in 1969 in Budapest. She studied singing in her hometown and in Vienna (Margarete Bence, David Lutz). In 1993 she graduated with honors and three years later she won the ARD International Music Competition. She won also numerous awards in the following competitions in Budapest, Aberdeen and Vienna. From 1989 to 1993 she had an engagement at the ORF Choir in Vienna. Then Anna Korondi was employed as a member of the soloists (until 1997) of the Comic Opera in Berlin and of the Opera in Bonn (until 1999). She performed as a guest at the prestigious festivals such as the Salzburg, Schwetzingen, Bayreuther Festspiele, during Wagner’s Days in Budapest (Budapester Wagnertagen) and  Schubert’s Weeks in Vienna (Wiener Schubertwochen), as well as in the Bayerische Staatsoper (premiere of "Bernarda Albas Haus" under the direction of Zubin Mehta, "Arabella"), on the stage of the Städtischen Bühnen Münster ("Der Rosenkavalier"), the Konzerthaus Turku ("Don Giovanni"), in the Comic Opera in Berlin (important roles of Mozart) and at the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples ("Parsifal" ). In addition to extensive concert activity in Europe, Asia and South America Anna Korondi is a regular guest of major European orchestras (f.ex. Chapelle Royal, Concentus Musicus in Vienna,  Gewandhausorchester in Leipzig, WDR and HR Radio Orchestra, Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra). She has worked with such directors as Christoph Schlingensief, Harry Kupfer, Christine Mielitz, Hans Neuenfels and Andreas Homoki, as well as with such conductors as Zubin Mehta, Pierre Boulez, Philippe Herreweghe, Helmut Rilling, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Adam Fischer, Peter Schneider and Herbert Blomstedt . Her recordings appeared thanks to the following companies: Labels Farao Classics (songs by Brahms, Mozart's Requiem, The Passion of Matthew), Hungaroton (works by Handel and Kodály), Capriccio (works by Mendelssohn and Spohr) and BIS Records AB ("Floresta do Amazonas" by Villa-Lobos). In addition to her artistic activity she often leads masterclasses. From 2007 to 2014 she was an assistant professor at the Academy of Arts in Berlin (Universität der Künste Berlin) and from 2010 at the Academy of Music in Weimar. In the winter semester 2013/14 Anna Korondi was employed as professor of singing at the Academy of Music of Hanns Eisler in Berlin.
