figielHe graduated from the Academy of Arts at the Faculty of Instrumental Music in Szczecin. He studied in the piano class of prof. Waldemar Wojtala. He also graduated from I. J. Paderewski Academy of Music at the Faculty of Music Education in Poznań and further he graduated in the class of choral conducting of prof. Ryszard Handke. He perfected his skills on the piano courses conducted by prof. Maja Nosowska, prof. Waldemar Andrzejewski, prof. Andrzej Tartarski and prof. Grzegorz Kurzyński. Since 2011, Krzysztof Figiel has been a lecturer at the Academy of Art in Szczecin. He cooperates with the Polish Theatre and Opera at the Castle in Szczecin. In 2015, he completed his artistic internship at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in the field of piano chamber music under supervision of prof. Maja Nosowska. In October 2014, he won the second prize at the XXIV International Piano Competition in Rome in the category of piano duets. In December 2016, he recorded a CD with the music of Raul Koczalski for Acte Préalable. It is the world premiere of the composer's works. As a pianist-chamber musician, he participates in national master classes conducted by famous singers as Ewa Podleś, Jadwiga Rappe, Piotr Miciński, Katarzyna Dondalska etc. He leads a lively concert activity cooperating with singers, instrumentalists, vocal and instrumental ensembles, as well as with Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra of M. Karłowicz in Szczecin. He teaches piano at the National School of Music of Witold Lutosławski (I° and II° degree) in Stargard Szczeciński.
