The performance of "Die Walküre" at the Metropolitan Opera House last evening was excellent in spirit and in execution. It would be too much to expect that Herr Perotti should break the habits of years at short notice,
and his exuberance of gesticulation and lack of repose must be viewed with some leniency in consideration of his fervor and honest devotion to the role of Siegmund. He was in good voice last evening and sang with good effect.
